Get $50 each month toward healthy food and produce!*

Eating healthy food is one of the best things you can do to take care of your health. Your Healthy Food Benefit helps you fit more healthy food in your budget. With your Healthy Food Benefit, you get a Blue Dollars Card from Florida Blue Medicare. Your Blue Dollars Card is loaded with $50 each month to spend on healthy food at approved stores in your local area.

Who qualifies for the Healthy Food Benefit?

If you are enrolled in our BlueMedicare Complete (HMO-DSNP) plan, you may be eligible to get a Blue Dollars Card.

To qualify for your Healthy Food Benefit, you must have one or more of these conditions:

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or diabetes. Florida Blue Medicare will look at your medical claims to determine if you have one of these conditions.

Here’s how to use your Healthy Food Benefit with your Blue Dollars Card:

  • After you qualify, your Blue Dollars Card will be mailed to you at the address we have on file.
  • When you get your card in the mail, activate it. Your card won’t work unless it’s been activated. Your card will come with instructions on how to activate it.
  • Shop for healthy food and produce at approved stores, such as Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Kroger and more.
  • Your Blue Dollars Card is easy to use! Use your Blue Dollars Card first when you check out. You will have to pay for any unapproved items. You’ll also have to pay if you spend more than $50. Your Blue Dollars Card does not  cover the cost of ordering, shipping, delivery or subscription fees.
  • You will get $50 for healthy food each month through the end of the year. Make sure to use your $50 balance each month. The balance on your card will not roll over from month to month
