From 2020–2021, food security grantees served 246,982 individuals and provided over 59.9 million meals (an average of 243 meals per person).
Having inconsistent access to food may not be something everyone has had to face. Unfortunately, it’s a reality for many people, including plenty of Floridians. This lack of food security can be damaging to the health, development, and well-being of residents and the communities they call home. Not knowing where they will get their next meal may cause people to choose a less healthy option. But we are helping to pave a new way forward.
Our Foundation has created a multi-year initiative around food security solutions, which gives residents across Florida better access to healthy food. One way of doing this is forming partnerships with organizations throughout the state to connect people with resources like food banks, free meals, health screenings, cooking classes, food trucks, and more.
