Almost 1.6 million Floridians don’t have health coverage. They could be one accident or illness away from a major financial setback. During open enrollment, which this year runs from Nov. 1 through Jan. 15, they have a new chance to get coverage – many for as low as a $0 monthly payment after their financial assistance (subsidy) is applied if they qualify. You can use the tools below to communicate what health coverage is, why it’s important and how they can get guidance, advice and help choosing a plan.

Nutrition is a critical part of health and development. Better nutrition is linked to improved child development, stronger immune systems, safer pregnancy and childbirth, lower risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease and more. We have developed a variety of pieces in English and Spanish that provide helpful, simple and relatable tips to educate the community on easy things they can do to eat healthier.

While heart disease is a leading cause of death for all Americans, Black and Hispanic individuals in the U.S. are at higher risk. Studies show that men are less likely to go to the doctor than women and are less likely to tell someone when something in wrong. The tools below have been developed specifically to address key issues facing men.

For more than 200 years, vaccines have helped keep us healthy. From the first vaccine developed to prevent smallpox to vaccines that have pretty much eliminated serious childhood illnesses, we rely on vaccines to keep us all healthy. The CDC estimates more than 1 in 3 adults in America has prediabetes and most don’t even know it. Prediabetes raises a person’s risk for type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. The good news is prediabetes can be prevented or reversed with lifestyle changes, including losing weight, eating a healthy diet, and getting regular physical activity. These tools provide tips on how to prevent prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.
