Prevent Falls

A simple fall can change your loved one’s life - like tripping on a rug or slipping on a wet floor. A fall could lead to breaking bones, which can be the start of more serious problems, such as a trip to the hospital, injury, or even disability. You can help your loved one prevent falls by doing the right exercises, making their home safer, getting regular health checkups, and more.

Here are a few tips to avoid falls:

  • Stay physically active
  • Have your vision tested
  • Know medication side effects
  • Get enough sleep
  • Stand up slowly
  • Avoid walking on wet surfaces
  • Wear shoes that fully support your feet - non-skid, rubber-soled
